MENTAL HEALTH

A pilgrimage of sorts

This journey was a passion project over a number of years, in between other expeditions.

The keystone to my self-development and mental health education. What started out as a coming-of-age, self-filmed bolt into the blue, became a journey of my evolving consciousness and unravelling everything it is to be human

This UK expedition was conceived as a social experiment

Going solo and unsupported forced me to ask for help, prompting strangers and communities to come together in collaboration and conversation. Talking about my own mental health as a catalyst for connection and communication”

A plantbased adventure for

#plasticfreeisland campaign on the Isle of Wight.

Supporting Surfers Against Sewage and 4Ocean

A truly special experience for a group of inspiring characters coming together to support change in each other.

The aim of this incredible experience was, to seed a change and to make us think about how much plastic we consume in our daily lives,

A curated circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight, over three days entirely on a plant based diet and we wild camped each night carrying our own supplies

I.O.W

The first SUP around the Island. Paddling 96km clockwise from Bembridge, on 11ft long surf boards. The non-stop journey took 14 hours and raised £500 for the Bembridge lifeboat station.

LAST DESCENT

The Last Descent

The Blue Nile River is a wild and remote source of the great Nile River in Ethiopia.

This was the last chance to document this historic river in its natural state. As the river was about to be blocked by the Grand Renaissance Dam.

Ben Peters and Charlie joined forces to produce a documentary dedicated to an education program, to inspire schools to be a part of the journey and learn environmental education through a live expedition.

We completed the first SUP descent of the Blue Nile River with a convoy of excellent raft guides to make the Last descent through the Grand canyon of Africa.

FIRST DESCENT

First SUP descent of the river Marañón

In September 2015, Charlie departed the UK and headed to Peru, to begin the first SUP descent of the River Marañón, the main stem source of the Amazon River.

Embarking on an 8-week paddle journey along 1800km of the Amazon to Iquitos, taking on intense rapids and endurance distances. The journey was filmed as part of a documentary for Mission Amazon, Red Bull TV

This was the first, and likely the last time anyone could paddle this immense stretch of water in its natural state, at risk to be dammed at great cost to the environment and communities

trip around island of Ibiza

Pick-me-up trip around the renowned party island of Ibiza with 3 good friends. Exploring corners that many holiday-makers don't get to see, the trip around the island was something of a change of pace but still presenting plenty of kilometres a day of paddling in variable conditions. Made possible Thanks to Kiko Mathews Will Rogers from SUPBoarder Magazine and photographer and filmmaker Benjamin Sadd
